Volunteers are always welcome. There are many ways you can help even if you are not “horsey”. If you can spare a couple of hours a week, why not come and see us? There are various different ways you could volunteer:

  • Fundraise for us!
  • Help at an Open Day
  • Be part of a team that assists the riders
Each child requires one person to lead the pony, and up to 2 sidewalkers. Volunteers that participate in leading or sidewalking need to have a basic level of fitness. Training for both these activities will be provided on an ongoing basis. Lessons take place outdoors, either in a sand or grass arena. To come and see the therapy riding in action, visit the EARTH Centre weekday mornings during government school terms.
  • Community Service Volunteers
  • Handyman
Help us in maintaining our stables and grounds.
  • Become an Instructor
The therapy riding lessons require an instructor with specialised knowledge and skills. Before deciding to undergo instructor training, come and learn the ropes by volunteering as a leader or sidewalker first.
  • Specialised skills - occasionally, we need assistance in the following areas:
    • Computers
    • Photography
    • Catering
    • Newsletters, publications
    • Office work
    • Artwork
    • Design / graphics
    • Construction / handy man
    • Fundraising committee / organising
    • Prize collecting
    • Helping at special functions
    • Volunteer co-ordinator
